      <title>Oracle CRS CONFIGURATION</title>

      <description>Hi, I'm installing Oracle RAC 10g R2(10.2.0.1.0) on Suse linux enterprise 9 server. i reached the step where i have to run 2 scripts (orainstRoot.sh and root.sh) the first one runn successfuly but the other one gage me this error message:&lt;BR /&gt;node1-pub:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs_2 # ./root.sh&lt;BR /&gt;WARNING: directory '/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0' is not owned by root&lt;BR /&gt;WARNING: directory '/u01/app/oracle/product' is not owned by root&lt;BR /&gt;WARNING: directory '/u01/app/oracle' is not owned by root&lt;BR /&gt;Checking to see if Oracle CRS stack is already configured&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/oracle does not exist. Creating it now.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Setting the permissions on OCR backup directory&lt;BR /&gt;Setting up NS directories&lt;BR /&gt;Failed to upgrade Oracle Cluster Registry configuration&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i don't know what is wrong with my configuration.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Kouyate</description>

      <description>Shalom Kouyata,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I don't think there is anything wrong with yoru configuration.  It is much better that the oracle binary and data folders be owned by the oracle user.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is more information in the installation log that might be helpful with this issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check permissions on all warnings above and the /etc/oracle and /etc/oratab file.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Hi &lt;BR /&gt;Your perform the installation as an oracle user.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But the two script must be run as root user.&lt;BR /&gt;Did you do this?  &lt;BR /&gt;Check also the permissions of your directory</description>
