    <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you did not have the folloiwng entry in your /etc/fstab file&lt;BR /&gt;monitor:/ora /sw nfs xxxx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;then you need to tell mount command that you are mounting a nfs filesystem.&lt;BR /&gt;[root@dev ~]# mount -f nfs monitor:/ora /sw&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if you get the same error message try the following.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Login "monitor" the &lt;BR /&gt;# showmount -e&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;then you will see a list of all filesystems being exported. &lt;BR /&gt;/ora should be on the list and should be accessible by "dev"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Nan</description>

      <title>NFS problem</title>

      <description>Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 2.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I wanto to mount a NFS filesystem but I get an error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[root@dev ~]# mount monitor:/ora /sw&lt;BR /&gt;mount: monitor:/ora failed, reason given by server: Permission denied&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Server which has the NFS origin filesystem has portmap, nfs and nfslock services running. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/exports has the following:&lt;BR /&gt;/ora dev(rw,sync)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I ran the exportfs -a after configure /etc/exports.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any idea about the source of my problem?</description>

      <description>Nop, I would not want to mount the NFS at server start.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My real problem was that the hosts entry for the server that was allowed to acces NFS was wrong. It is running right now.</description>
