With MailScanner, you can use rulesets to the "Maximum Message Size = " parameter to achieve what you need.

Sendmail allows you to limit the maximum message size for inconming and outgoing mail with the option:

O MaxMessageSize=

But, what if I want to limit just the incoming mail size but not the outgoing, or viceversa?

It seems that the only way is to use two sendmails instances running with differents configurations on differents ports.

Shalom Ivan,

Another possible scheme would be to have a second machine in front of the main sendmail box with limitations turned on. It would be told to process and DS relay to the main box.

The main box could send its mail to the Internet without passing through the second.

SEP

Hi Steven, you solution will work. I would like to give you more points but I want to keep this thread without solution so new messages will be posted.

I just want to see if there is another way, using only one server. (Maybe something that runs with sendmail, like mailscanner)
