ISDN and a Debian GNU box

I have this ISDN account of VSNL, an ISP in India. I have a Debian server with three NICs. NIC1 is connected to the LAN via a switch, NIC2 is connected to an Internet broadband cable and NIC2 is to be connected to the ISDN link. a) Can I connect directly from the NT-1 terminator switch to NIC3 or should I use an ISDN router? b) Any pointer to an URL of getting this setup in Debian is welcome c) Instead of using the ISDN router, can I use my Debian box act as a router? TIA.

Ragu,

Do not even try to connect the NT-1 into the NIC! It can burn your NIC card. You must use an ISDN router (or an ISDN "modem" terminal adapter). If you get an ISDN "modem" you can use yours box as a router.

you need an isdn-modem or an isdn-router. if you will use an isdn-modem you will need isdn4linux:
