I got NIS+ password too. When i try to login, it cannot locate the home direcory and comes out.
What I shall look in and how shall create direcory.
My colleuage is able to login under /users/<USERNAME>

I have tried nismkdir, but not sure of the server where I shall create it, and also it asks for sully qualified directory name. What steps shall I take. Every help is very much appreciated.

Thanks and regards
Prashant</USERNAME>

Perms on directory??? Are they correct?? Can you ask sysadmin to mount/access the home dir from this client??
You can check as
cd /nfs/"nfs_server"/"home_dir"

Anil
