Under HP-UX 11.X you would use the lanadmin tool. See the lanadmin manpage for more info. Under Linux, I'm _guessing_ it would be ethtool.

I am trying to set up jumbo frames on the gb nic cards on servers running:
RHES 2.1, 3.0
RHAS 2.1, 3.0
HPUX 11.0

Is there a howto or cook book on setting this up.
I.e. mostly need help in setting the correct mtu value -- or at least I think that.

Hi,

some good information material :

http://www.faqs.org/docs/linux_network/x-087-2-iface.ifconfig.html
http://linux-ip.net/html/tools-ifconfig.html
http://www.mike-devlin.com/linux/driver.htm
http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-net/msg11873.html

Attention for the module configuration to accept jumbo frames. I'm assuming that your hardware is HP so you may have Broadcom nics, so you have a document above about configuring Broadcom's driver.

If your nic is not a Broadcom, look for configuration manual of your nic.

regards,
Xyko
