Hi,
the main aim is to build up briding capabilities without using IP-Protocoll conventions or using other higher Layer III
protocolls.
I have to build up only Layer II bridging using it in promiscous mode.
The used brcfg enables the interfaces into promiscous, does??nt bridge them.
So each of the is working correctly with no IP.
By declaring eth0 (incoming) eth1 (outcoming)promisc and brcfg enable
the coming in datastreams packets, frames did??nt reach the outcoming protocoll-based station.
Has anywere experiencies in that working field.
Thank you

Herbert

I had such a configuration running perfectly for about two years, even with ipchains support built in. It used the 2.2 kernel.
Can you post some more info.

Cheers,
Joost
