      <description>hi; &lt;BR /&gt;I have a redhat Advance server 2.1 with sendmail 8.11.6.9 installed. only very few of the mails are send out successfully. other mails are spooling up in mqueue with "satus =defered Connection timed out with xyz.com". If manually flushed (with sendmail -q -v ) only few mails are send out. can anyone help me in this regards. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the /var/log/maillog looklike&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;makeconnection (xxx.yyy.com [x.y.z.zx]) failed: Connection timed out with xxx.yyy.com&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;First of all find out whether your ISP link's bandwidth is overloaded . This can be done by running MRTG or looking at the interface statistics of your Internet router. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If it is overloaded , try to get the bandwidth increased by paying some money to the ISP.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As of now do this &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Edit sendmail.cf file and Increase this paramter&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;eg:-&lt;BR /&gt;Present parameter:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;O Timeout.connect=1m&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Change it to: ( Whathever value there + 4m )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;O Timeout.connect=5m&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Restart sendmail daemon.       <description>hi Sivakumar;&lt;BR /&gt;Thank u for you help. I have got some lead in my problem. If I restart the interfaces and force dequeue the mail sendmail -q -v mail are going and again stops after some time with connection timed out. I'm installing MRTG in few days time.</description>
