I installed a DL380 G3 with two onboard NIC NC7781. After reboot of the server the NIC configured as eth0 and eth1 have no MAC address. The BIOS shows the NIC as not configured after a reboot. After a power down of the server it works fine.
Any idea?

This would suggest this is not written down by BIOS until hard reset (power down/up), the real question are the followin shutdown/reboot registering the nic/MAC correctly ?

if so .... well all is well

J-P
This must be due to the kernel driver for the card.

What kernel version are you running?

Sounds like you have a hardware problem.

Those onboard NIC's do fail once in a while.

You might want to try bringing the BIOS back to defaults, booting your system and see if it helps.

SEP
