    <description>Hi I did like the link: &lt;A href="ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bcm5700-7.1.9c-1.src.txt" target="_blank"&gt;ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bcm5700-7.1.9c-1.src.txt&lt;/A&gt; And it couldnt work out if you did like it shows !!&lt;BR /&gt;So I did a symbolic link to compile the Kernel and it worked ...&lt;BR /&gt;But the problem is how install/rpmbuild the NIC drivers to work in UP and SMP Kernel ??</description>

      <description>They should just work. There is no difference between UP or SMP as far as bcm5700 is concerned...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What error do you have ?</description>

      <description>The module cannot start in UP if you install and compile in SMP ... and if you read the document &lt;A href="ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bcm5700-7.1.9c-1.src.txt" target="_blank"&gt;ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/supportsoftware/linux/bcm5700-7.1.9c-1.src.txt&lt;/A&gt; thet part "The bcm5700 driver requires the presence of the kernel source code&lt;BR /&gt;and configuring the kernel source before building the bcm5700 driver.&lt;BR /&gt;The following steps need to be done once for each kernel that is &lt;BR /&gt;booted. For example, if the current kernel is UP (uni-processor)&lt;BR /&gt;and an SMP (symmetrical-multi-processor) kernel is booted, these&lt;BR /&gt;steps must be performed again to configure the kernel source for &lt;BR /&gt;SMP before building the bcm5700 driver for the SMP kernel." &lt;BR /&gt;Tell to install in bought UP and SMP and it dont work . . .</description>
