If you cannot connect to sambashares, then have a try to connect to http://HOST:901
If httpd is running, than you have a webtool to look and modify the sambasettings remotely.
This can save a lot of work.
This tool is called SWAT and you should see such a line in the /etc/services of server.

Succes,
Ceesjan

I'm using a Samba server to store ghost images of computers in labs that I'm trying to set up. My problem is this: I was ghosting a lab, going on my merry way, when my lab computers started giving me the error message:
Error 51: The specified computer is not recieving requests.
Now, I know that this is not the case, because the other lab computers were (and still are) able to connect to my samba server just fine. I took the time to do some searching, and I have looked at the following things:
hosts_allow and hosts_deny are all in order. The computers that are getting the error should be allowed, and are in the same subnet as the computers not getting the error.
The computers in question can ping each other just fine.
I have paged through smb.conf, trying to figre out what went wrong, but I can't seem to figure it out.

I am connecting by using a boot floppy (the same boot floppy) on all the computers that loads DOS network drivers, tcp/ip, dhcp, etc. and then uses the Net.exe program to connect to the samba server.

So far, it is not the case that a computer that could connect in the past started getting this error message, or one that couldn't connect in the past has suddenly been able to connect.

I am attempting to attach my smb.conf file to this post.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
(I hope so... I still have 1.5 labs to go!)
