    <description>i have a dns entry in my master db file;&lt;BR /&gt;ns ns.lx01.com.&lt;BR /&gt;mx 10 mail.lx01.com.&lt;BR /&gt;@ A 123.123.1.4 (**)&lt;BR /&gt;ns A 123.123.123.4&lt;BR /&gt;mail CNAME ns&lt;BR /&gt;localhost 127.0.0.1 (**)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my Q is ,&lt;BR /&gt;do i need to add an dns entry&lt;BR /&gt;of my dnsdomainname &lt;BR /&gt;'lx01.com'. say @ A 123.12.3.123.4 .&lt;BR /&gt;and is localhost or localhost with end with (.).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;pls confirm me thost ** is correct or not and how this will entered.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi Tuhin,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you add following line as first line in your db file then you don't have to add dnsdomainname at every line.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;$ORIGIN lx01.com. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then you can add systemname without domainname&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sachin  IN  A 123.123.123.10&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In this case dns will automatically add lx01.com at end of sachin. sachin.lx01.com&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This is your forward lookup.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;No do not add 127.0.0.1 because every system has there hosts file for it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sachin&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>actually, u r right.&lt;BR /&gt;but if i dont add an entry (lx01.com. IN A 123.123.123.1)&lt;BR /&gt;then my nslookup cant find any lx01.com. but nslookup can find ns.lx01.com or mail.lx01.com.&lt;BR /&gt;so do i need to add this (lx01.com. in a 123.123.123.1&lt;BR /&gt;or @ in a 123.123.123.1.)&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
