mail client help

Hi,
i have installed postfix on a RH 7.2 as mail server and trying to send mails from other two RH 7.2 clients.
If i use kmail i send and recieve mails without problems.
Now i want to send emails from command line using mail command (so i'm notified when i run scripts), but i don't know what to configure..
does mail command use sendmail?
can someone give me a hint?

Hi,

Is this the recipient address you are using ?

franzd@10.113.193.63

Then your recipient address format is wrong. you have use like this.

franzd@[10.113.193.63]

Eg:-

#mail franzd@[10.113.193.63]

Now the mail should be delivered to franzd at 10.113.193.63

That worked!! Thanks.
Now if i put that server in the /etc/hosts it should work right?
do i have to specify also the domain or not?
I had also modified two lines
of /etc/sendmail.cf:
# SMTP daemon options

#O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA
O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=10.113.193.63, Name=10.113.193.63

# SMTP client options
#O ClientPortOptions=Address=0.0.0.0
O ClientPortOptions=Address=10.113.192.197

is it right?
in the client port i put my ip (client) and the other is the server.

Hi,

Yes .

put it in /etc/hosts

10.113.193.63 mail.mydomain.com

There is no need for ClientPortOptions.
