for Linux? Besides looking in /etc/modules.conf to find out whether you NIC card is running 10/100 full or hald duplex mode, what command is available in Linux to do this? Thanks in advance.

Ron,
what options do you give ifconfig inorder to determine if it's running in 10/100 FULL or HALF Duplex mode?

ifconfig -a
should show you all it knows about the interfaces. If there is nothing about speed or duplex then I guess ifconfig is not the answer.

What version of Linux are you running and what type of network card is it?

Ron

If using a recent version of RH, there should be a 'mii-tool' (or mii-diag) which should show you how the card is currently configured amongst other things.
