J2585B 10/100mbit PCI NIC

my NIC wont connect with 100mbit. i don't know why. i testet it with a 100mbit hub, and with a crossover wire with another working 10/100mbit NIC.
The OS on wich the NIC is running is Slackware Linux. plz help.

Hi

J2585B card is, 10 / 100VG ANY LAN card. It is not 100BaseT.

Are you using 100VG HUB or Switch?

what the heck is 100VG?
Is it not compatible with my "level one 8Port 100MBPS FAST ETHERNET HUB"? or can i create a network with two computers (100mbit) with a crossover. the other network card is 100baseT.
