      <title>speed  problem with cirrus logic modem</title>

      <description>dear friends ...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i have a cirrus logic 33.600 modem which works fine under windows 98.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;as i installed linux ( red hat 6.0 ) , i use com3 and ... ok.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i get to connect to my isp, but the transfer rate is almost 0.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the status remain connected, etc ... but ping and web access are too slow.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if anyone can help me.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;p.s. after some 50 seconds, if i am under gnome, it tells me "the ppp daemon has died ..." &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thks for attention.</description>

      <description>There is an option under the dialer in KDE to turn on debugging. It will give you a little bit more information related to what's actually causing the daemon to die.</description>
