Xemacs via exceed 7.1

I have xemacs install on linux system.
When I run that and display back to my pc I gets xemacs window but no blank menu bar (no font is visible)
If I run
#xrdb /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/XEmacs

And now run Xemacs I can have proper emacs window.

no if I close exceed out and relaunch it it wann't work.

Anyone know the work around?

I'm wondering if the command line version is running.

prior to running xemacs,

echo $DISPLAY

is it correct?

Do other x apps show this issue?

My display is set properly.
All other application works for example I ran emacs and i got back nice window with menu bar.

I even copy /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Emacs file as XEmacs but still no luck.

But as soon as I runs xrdb command it works.

My initial thought was that exceed isn't configured to use an appropriate font server.

Reading the man page for 'xrdb' (something of which I've never used before) seems to indicate that, and other posibilities (such as the inability to pass screen resolutions etc.).

Two thigns to check. One: Exceed should be able to use a server-based font server in addition to local fonts. Configure XFS on your linux box to be able to field remote requests, and Two: ensure that exceed is allowing queries on all server related details (as listed in the man page for xrdb).

I would only assume it works with 'xrdb' if one of those values isn't being fielded correctly from the X-server (exceed).
