      <description>Looks like you have shadow password installed and your restore was incomplete.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You probably can't restore /etc/passwd by itself, you need to get the shadow files as well.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;OR&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Permissions on the /etc/passwd file are wrong, or ownership is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-rw-r--r--    1 root     root         2678 Sep  1 00:11 /etc/pa&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I'm still thinking on this one.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>You can be missing the /etc/shadow file while still using shadow passwords&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyway I think running "authconfig" will help you.</description>
