you will need an rpm with the ftp-server software and install it (see man rpm).(search on Google or just with Mandrake or Red Hat)

Start the ftp-server with the startupscripts

Regards,

Peter

I dont think it is hard to install. There are many FTP Servers available and you can use either WU-FTP or PROFTP as a ftp server.

The installation will be very simple. Just refer to readme files after downloading the source file (.tar.gz)

-Vijay

You should find an ftp server or two on the mandrake cd's

wu-ftpd is popular, secureable

vsftpd scales nicely, redhat uses it.

Proftpd is considered strong and secure.

You get the software, install it then enable it:

vi /etc/xinetd.d/wu-ftpd

change disable=yes to disable=no

service xinetd restart

service command might not be available in Mandrake, the inetd or xinetd daemon must be restarted.

SEP
