Purify issue on Itanium

I have got purify installed on one of my Itanium servers and it does not seem to work very well. Below is the error message we are getting when trying to use purify, anyone fgot any ideas as to why this does not work?

You have an IPF beta from IBM?

Or are you using a PA purify on an IPF box??
(This will not work.)

You are stuck with using +check= and +wlint on IPF until IBM releases purify.

Shalom,

Technically the Aries emulation software should let you run pa-risc software on itanium.

In practice the rsults are horrible.

I do not believe purify is certified on IA-64.

I'm afraid that I do not know, this is something that has been dumped onto me as the guy originally dealing with this has left. Can I supply you with some more detail, if so what would it be?

No detail is needed, except your compiler version. Since you aren't special, you'll have to wait.

As I said, you can use the builtin checks in the compiler and gdb until you get purify.

I'd just check the certification matrix on IBM's website. I work with a few of the rational products and IBM's support site is pretty good. There are tools or commands there to find out what version of purify is being used and such.

I just had a look on the Rational website and there is no mention of Itanium for purify, this does not supprise me!

I should be getting support contract details from our TLV office and then I will give them a call direct.

I have just been told by Rational that there will not be a version available until October 2007 and that will be a Beta one

Yes, I'm working on that now. I first thought you perhaps had one too.
