      <description>I tried to download it 3 times. same error.&lt;BR /&gt;the rpm rebuild threw up:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; rpm -vv --rebuilddb&lt;BR /&gt;D: rebuilding database /var/lib/rpm into /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.16483&lt;BR /&gt;D: creating directory /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.16483&lt;BR /&gt;D: opening old database with dbapi 3&lt;BR /&gt;D: opening  db environment /var/lib/rpm/Packages joinenv&lt;BR /&gt;D: opening  db index       /var/lib/rpm/Packages rdonly mode=0x0&lt;BR /&gt;rpmdb: /var/lib/rpm/Packages: file size not a multiple of the pagesize&lt;BR /&gt;D: closed   db index       /var/lib/rpm/Packages&lt;BR /&gt;D: closed   db environment /var/lib/rpm/Packages&lt;BR /&gt;error: cannot open Packages index&lt;BR /&gt;D: removing directory /var/lib/rpmrebuilddb.16483    &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I rebuilt this system RH9 using mondo restore. Dont know if this is an issue. I do it all the time, never seen this b4.</description>

      <description>Did you try to kill any rpm processes that you can see with ps&lt;BR /&gt;rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*&lt;BR /&gt;rpm --rebuilddb -v -v&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Yes, tried that too.&lt;BR /&gt;I might try and rebuild. I cant even run rpm -qa. Not sure what went south. I may rebuild, unless u have more ideas. Looks like a real corrupt rpm db....</description>
