Wierd interface module

Our 9000 T-500 has an interface module that is "suposed" to use a Sun type 5 keyboard. When It would not commnicate with the server using the keyboard that came with it I went out and bought the keyboard and mouse set from Sun. When attached to the module neither is recognized, but a standard PC keyboard and mouse are. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE! The parts list for the module show "type 5", but that does work and nothing communicates with the server to force in into PDC mode "Control<>C"
"Control<>A" yield zip. "Press any key to continue." "Okay guys, where the he;; is the "any" key????

One thing that I know is that a PC keyboard and a Sun keyboard are not the same. In fact the Sun mouse would plug into the keyboard, not another port. Have also never heard of such a device. Can you post the manufacturers info?

Robert, you miss mmy point, my "SUN" (as in manufactured by SUN Microsystems) does not work in the interface module the way it is supposed to do. In fact there is a PC keyboard and mouse port in the back of the thing. My question is WHY? The part listy on HP specifies "Sun type 5 keyboard" but the damned thing won't plug in, let alone work. And the PC keyboard does not follow Processor Commands. The console just beeps when I push keys. I can't even get a command prompt!

Sorry cannot locate the "any" key on my keyboard. Is this a new invention ?.

I think I understand (the adapter is supposed to work with Sun Micro keyboards, but doesnt).
Thats the problem with trying to make competitive manufacturer devices work together, they usually dont. What would you do with a STOP key on an HP system anyway;)?
(oh and that "any" key, it looks like a Windows icon).
