Hi, I own a Hewlett Packard Pavilion 8565C. Is booting off of a secondary controller if my c drive controller has no drives attached, the same as partitioning drives?? Thanks!!

Hi Jessica,

Seems like you posted this question more than once.

No botting through a disk on the secondary controller is not the same as partitioning. It will get treated as C drive.

To partition a disk you have to go thru disk manager in windows NT or Fdisk on win 95/98. Or you can use a partition utility which you can download through the net.

Thanks
Hello Jessica,
Yes, I noticed you're in a panic state. Can you tell us what the history of the problem is? Was the hard drive bootable before the problem? Your inclination seems to be that the primary controller is damaged. Did you try changing the controller cable, just to eliminate other factors?

Dave
