Hi,

I have an SC10 disk subsystem and want to configure a group of drives as a raid level 10 volume. Is there an HP disk controller that can do this in hardware or does it have to be done in software ?

Thanks,
Devin McEntee
dmcentee@firstgenetic.net

Hi, you can install a RAID card RAID 4si (A5856A).

This card is compatible with L and N HP9000 class, and works with SC10 disks.
You can do RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and others.

David.

Hi,

HP's RAID 4si, PCI card will do the task for you. This can be installed in the L or N class systems and supports all type of RAID levels. This controller will support your SC10 and the drives can be configured through the disk array controller utility or SAM.

For using software mirror (Mirror/UX), you don't have to order anything new.

Check this out for more information about the controller:

http://www.hp.com/products1/unixserverconnectivity/storage/adapter14/index.html

HTH,
Shiju
