The VL series had a 3-year warranty. If it's less than 3 years old, I beleive you would be covered.

See http://www.support.vectra.hp.com/vectrasupport/level4/38vt0002en/38vt0002en.html for details.

You can go to http://partsinfo.hp.com/cgi-bin/spi/main?sel_flg=famlist&secfam=PC%7CVectra%3APentium+III to pick through the model list for your exact model, then pick "drives", and it will list the part number and even let you order it online (if you are out of warranty and/or don't have home/office service.)

Good luck!

We have the following error present on our computer; upon startup, the computer displays
- 0510-AE: SMART Failure is predicted on IDE Device # 0
Warning- Immediately back up your data and replace your hard drive. A failure may be imminent.

As a result of this, we have decided to get a new harddrive; the problem is finding out what is compatible with our computer, a Vectra VL400 SF. Can anyone provide a list or some more information as to where I can find a list of compatible hard drives ?
thanks.
