Hello,

You need A4800A controllers in your N-Class for the HVD10 to work. That is the only HVD card supported on that server.

HTH,
Vince

I am trying to hook up a HVD10 disk pack( 7 disks) onto a single SCSI connector.
The array has two bus cards (i.e. 4 ports) and I can not get the connection to work. I have tried using bus A and bus B on either card with various DIP switch settings, but nothing seems to work. Is a special cable required? (Doco mentions a 'V'cable, but seems to refer to multiple hosts)
Peter,
make sure controller you're connecting HVD10 to is HVD type, not LVD or SE (HVD and LVD/SE are electrically incompatible)! Post its part/product number here.
Eugeny

Update:
The product code on the input card of the array is A5616A.
The ioscan lists:
SCSI C895 Fast Wide LVD
and internal disks on SCSI C875 Ultra Wide Single-Ended.

Is it possible to change the card on the back of the array to hook up to the LVD chain?
A5616A is really HVD10 enclosure (not SC10) which has Fast-Wide-Differential HVD interface, and is a replacement for Jamaica enclosures.
You will never get LVD/SE adapter working with HVD10, they are not electrically compatible. You need either SC10 enclosure (which is LVD-type) or HVD/FWD host bus adapter in your server
Eugeny

As others have said, you'll need an HVD HBA to drive the HVD10. Vince pointed out the A4800A, a single-port HVD SCSI HBA which has a "HD68" standard 68-ping SCSI connector for your cabling pleasure.

There is also a dual-port A5159A HVD SCSI HBA, which has the smaller form-factor "VHD68" type plugs (very high density, 68-pin). I mention this, because, if you end up ordering a new HBA, you'll want to either know your cables will work, or order the right cables along with the card.

You'll also want the HVD terminator, if you aren't sure what you have: it is C2905A (HD68 style for the HVD10 chassis).

Regards, --bmr
