Yes, agree with Pete.

That is one old the old black and light blue disks, right ?

Then all the ID are in the rear of the cabinet, in the enclosure.

If you have a very good sight, with a hand-light you can even see those little numbers... usually i don't.

Massimo
The answer is: "it depends". If in a Jamiaca (A3311 or A3312) enclosure then the above answers are correct. The SCSI ID is determined by the setting of the DIP switches on the rear of the enclosure. However, if you are talking about the internal hot plug bay of a D-box then the SCSI ID is determined solely by the physical location (slot) of the drive in the bay. Top to bottom: 5,8,9,10,11 NOTE: On the D-2XX boxes with the internal hot-plug option only the top 2 slots are active. The lower three lack connection hardware.
Mike,
and here's my little contribution...
If you'll be moving server (for example) and will be removing drives out of it and then installing them back do not forget to mark which drive was where. If drive(s) will be installed in difeerent slot(s) then some VGs may not activate or even server will not boot. Then it would be hard and tricky to guess original drives slots
Eugeny
