topic New CPU won't recognize NTFS Harddrive in Disk

My AMD chip self-destructed. I replaced the CPU & motherboard with Intel. I'm (was) running Windows XP and Norton SystemWorks 2002 with NTFS. The BIOS sees the hardrive, but when I try to re- install windows, the drive is not recognized. It sees the drive, but won't assign a drive letter. It also shows space being used. Independant checks show the harddrive is OK.
HELP!

Try to change the mode(LBA/Large/Wide) in the BIOS disk setup.(Assuming its IDE)

Second option is to format the disk by using some utils like Seagate Disk Manager.

Sijesh
