I'm trying to update the firmware for A3714A disks in a 12H disk array. I found the firmware patch (pf_dseach3hp04) & tried to update the disks but got an error after it shutdown the array. I've been told by my software support people that there is no firmware update for individual disks in an array. I was able to update the controller array firmware. Thanks

Nonsense, you can update individual disks in a 12H. In fact, you would have to able to do this because you could have several different disk models within the same AutoRAID. Note that the download utility has a -D option just for this. Man download for details.
