    <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;As it says - 1782 is a disk controller failure. For some reason your Deskpro thinks the disk is bad. It's not related to the use of "non-Compaq" software, although it could be the use of "non Compaq" settings.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Compaq is different from most manufacturers in the way they configure the hard disks. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Make sure that your disk is jumpered for CS (cable select) and installed using a CS cable. If the cable has more than two connectors, put the disk you want as master on the connector at the end of the cable.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It's also possible that your drive could be defective&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Stf ;-)</description>

      <description>Bonjour,&lt;BR /&gt;Sur un Compaq Evo N440C au bout j'ai un message&lt;BR /&gt;1782 Disk Controler Failure&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Malgres une mise a jour du Bios(686W du 08/03/04), j'ai toujour l'erreur &lt;BR /&gt;Lors du diagnostic du disque dur... SMART erreur &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Y a T il une solution ?&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
