After some more searching I finally discovered that anything with a dash and a number at the end, like this:

A3647-69003

references a "sub-part". In this case the A3647-69003 is a hard drive apparently used in the A3643A and A3647A modules.

I'm getting lost in HP part numbers.

What the difference between:

A3643A: 4GB 'hot swap' Differential Fast Wide SCSI-2 hard drive module

A3647-69003: 4GB Differential Fast Wide SCSI disk drive (Part of A3643A hot-swap module, Part of A3647A disk drive)

A3647-67003: SEE A3647-69003 MODULE 4GBWD Disk

I can't figure out for myself which one is the actual disk, and which one is the enclosure+disk. I also can't quite figure out if the word "module" means just the enclosure, or the enclosure + disk together.

Can someone enlighten me, please! Thanks much!

Hi

This is going back a bit, but if I remember correctly, A3643A was the part number for the D-Class hot-swap module (disk and black plastic case). A3647A was the part number for the HAS (Jamaica) hot-swap module (disk and black plastic case). Maybe the part numbers with the 69003/67003 reference is the disk on its own. I always used to use the A3647A reference, as this seems to supersede all others. None of the part numbers include the HAS (Jamaica) disk enclosure (A3312A).

HTH - Keith

Hi,

It is a bit older equipment but A3643A is what we used.

Regards,
Bob
