I do not have any power lights on my Hotswap drives. It has to be a software issue. If I reinstall from scratch through smartstart it works fine. I just want to get them to work after the install.

Try updating the System ROM of the Servers along with the firmware of the Smart Controllers and drives . If still no LEDS on drives have the pluggable backplane replaced .

Try updating the System ROM of the Servers along with the firmware of the Smart Controllers and drives . If still no LEDS on drives have the pluggable backplane replaced .

I have upgraded the ROM, still no lights. I am not running any Smart Controllers only the on board controllers. Is there anything else to upgrade before I replace the backplane? I have two brand new Proliant 6500 servers and they both respond the same....I don't believe that both can have a bad backplane.
