    <description>Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;I need to upgrade from HP03 to HP05 firmware of not used ST318406LC disks in a DS2100 :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;ARILINN&gt;:/var/tmp) diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0&lt;BR /&gt;SCSI describe of /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0:&lt;BR /&gt;             vendor: HP 18.2G&lt;BR /&gt;         product id: ST318406LC&lt;BR /&gt;               type: direct access&lt;BR /&gt;               size: 17783240 Kbytes&lt;BR /&gt;   bytes per sector: 512&lt;BR /&gt;          rev level: HP03&lt;BR /&gt;    blocks per disk: 35566480&lt;BR /&gt;        ISO version: 0&lt;BR /&gt;       ECMA version: 0&lt;BR /&gt;       ANSI version: 2&lt;BR /&gt;    removable media: no&lt;BR /&gt;    response format: 2&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The station is an B2600 in HP-UX 11.11. I use STM in 43.25 version.&lt;BR /&gt;I have downloaded the PF_D36ESHP05.frm from the itrc.hp.com site and I have put the &lt;BR /&gt;PF_D36ESHP05.frm file in /var/tmp directory. The checksum is good :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;ARILINN&gt;:/var/tmp) cksum PF_D36ESHP05.frm&lt;BR /&gt;4051632651 3349504 PF_D36ESHP05.frm&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When I try to upgrade the firmware, STM has this problem :&lt;BR /&gt;====================&lt;BR /&gt;Current Firmware revision: HP03&lt;BR /&gt;Firmware update instructions:&lt;BR /&gt;   1. Select the file containing the device firmware.&lt;BR /&gt;   2. Start the firmware update.&lt;BR /&gt;Firmware update file information:&lt;BR /&gt;                                                                               &lt;BR /&gt;  Firmware File Selected: /var/tmp/PF_D36ESHP05.frm&lt;BR /&gt;  Firmware Revision:            &amp;lt;-----  PROBLEM&lt;BR /&gt;  Firmware Size: 3348416&lt;BR /&gt;Selecting the firmware update file was SUCCESSFUL.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and after :&lt;BR /&gt;Firmware Update Tool for device SCSI Disk on path 10/1/2/0.0.0.&lt;BR /&gt;                                                                               &lt;BR /&gt;The firmware file /var/tmp/PF_D36ESHP05.frm is corrupt and cannot be used to update the device.&lt;BR /&gt;Obtain an uncorrupted version of the file and try the update operation again.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I not understand because the cksum is good.&lt;BR /&gt;I have tried with the latest STM version and the problem occurs again.&lt;BR /&gt;Any ideas ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thinks for your help&lt;BR /&gt;Best regards&lt;/ARILINN&gt;&lt;/ARILINN&gt;</description>

      <description>Where you obtained the HP05 disk firmware ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The error clearly indicates the Firmware corruption . Try to obtain the good one .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;FTP the file in BIN mode not in ASCII mode for FTP method.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Seems to be correct methods which you are following for the disk firmware upgradation .&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best of luck</description>

      <description>Thanks for your response &lt;BR /&gt;But it's not a BIN or ASCII mode or FTP/HTTP donwload (I have tried all solutions). If there is a download corruption, the cksum of the PF_D36ESHP05.frm will not be good. But the cksum is the same like in documentation....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
