topic large disks + large files = question about cluster sizes in Disk

Just curious about this... I am setting a media drive for backing up video files to... since almost all of these files will be large in nature, will having a larger cluster size increase efficiency? I'm sure no file will be smaller then 2 megs and most will be several 100megs....

I've been wandernig this over the last hour or so while the drive was formatting at the default cluster size....

Thanks!

Hi,
If you are sure your file sizes are always high, select the largest size available.
Any file lesser than this size would occupy minimum of the cluster size. Also all files will occupy the space in multiples of cluster size. Fox example if your cluster size is 16K, 17K file will occupy 32K on disk.

Regds
TT
