topic HP Ultra320 HDD IOPS in Disk

Does anybody know exactly how many IOPS's HP rate their Ultra320 HDD's at ?

I'm sure I found some stated figures once, but for the life of me can't find them now. All I can find is a document stating that the 15K models can do 33% more IOPS compared to the 10K models...... but what is the figure?

Thanks in advance,

Jeff

P.S I though it was about 300 IOPS for the 15k model from memory, but I could be well off here.

Jeff,

15K rpm = 15000 revolutions per minute / 60 sec. = perfect world max IOPS.

IOPS are relevant to entire storage subsystem, not a hard drive only - everything counts, like the number of HDDs, type & quantity of controllers, cabling, etc.

You could find Seagete whitepaper with some figures here:
http://www.seagate.com/docs/pdf/whitepaper/chtah_15k_perform_compare.pdf

Sorry guys it was a bit of a horrible question really. Thanks for the .PDF link.

I understand of course that it all depends on your setup, and something will bottleneck somewhere. Was kinda just after a rule of thumb in a perfect world.

Found what I was refering to earlier in my HP EVA Student Guide, they use the example of 150 IOPS.

Jeff
