sc1000-- only recognizes half the drives-- help!

Just purchased an sc10 .. filled it up with slim line 76 gig drives.
I connect the sc1000 to my hp netserver 6000r, and only half the drives are recognized.
What gives? I am using only a simplex connection--I have dual scsi 2 ultra cards in the sc10, but only the "a" card is being used, and only the "a" port on that card is being used. Port "b" on the first scsi card is terminted.

I assume this is a SC10 (A5272A).

Take a look at the DIP switches at the backside. I'm sure there is "split bus" configured. So all even slots are on one bus, all odd slots are on another bus. If you switch off the system and set the switch to full bus, you will have all disks on only one bus.
