OK here we go...
1. can a A3312A be connected to a Adaptec 2940 scsi card?
2. if it can, does the cable plug in on the jamaica where it says "A" or the connection on the bottom?
3. do I run the short scsi cable from the bottom "A" connector to the top "B" connector?
4. do i then plug the terminator into the bottom "B" connector?
5. Do the internal jamaica drives need to be addressed to match the backplane?
6. these are the dip switch settings I have..

Ch. A
disk 1 - of/of/of/of (id0?)
disk 2 - of/of/of/on (id 1)
disk 3 - of/of/on/of (id 2)
disk 4 - of/of/on/on (id 3)

Ch. B
disk 1 - of/on/of/of (id 4)
disk 2 - of/on/of/on (id 5)
disk 3 - of/on/on/of (id 6)
disk 4 - of/on/on/on (id 7)

There are purple DF lables on the back if that helps.

I hve no other scsi drives attahed to the card or otherwise.

thanks in advance

Hi Chris,

AFAIK there are serveral and different AHA-2940's - specified by an appendix like U/UW...).

You need to have an controller compatible to HVD (high voltage differential). The "DF" on the stickers stands for "(fast wide)differential".

Last but not least: Never give ID 7 to a disk!
