The last post in this forum on the subject is about 2 years ago. I have looked some on the web and it looks like there are more options out there than there used to be. Has anyone out there found a product that works with HP 9000 servers? Anyone using a Solid state disk on their server? Thanks

Probably too small for what you are intending..........But I'm using a gigabyte iRAM with 4GB's of DDR in a PCI slot of my XW8200 workstation. No waiting for my Photoshop primary scratch disk to read or write through a separate SATA 150 card.I've read many forums of people using 2 of these in Raid for the fastest OS boot times possible.

Only gets power from the PCI slot all data transfer through SATA 150 card.As long as unit remains plugged in to power source ,memory retains data.

Raymond

HP used to have a Solid State Disk called the "Excellerator". I don't believe it was a big seller and they took it off the market. You can get the what is equivalent to a solid state disk in an XP array. It's called Cache LUN XP, and it is a cache resident disk.

HTH,

Curt
