Hi

Are you booting from the tape, or using stm?

When you perform the ioscan command, does the server reboot? If it does, you may have some hardware problem.

Be sure to have no I/O on the disks while uprading, ie, if possible deactivate the volume groups where the disks are, or just umount the file system.

Bye

Boot the system in ODE mode and then try to upgrade the firmware. Are the drives in working condition? There may be some H/W Problem on your system.

Sandip

Hello,

The problem is probably your version of PDC on the box you are running the firmware update tape on.

If the PDC is an old rev them it appears that the mapper2 utility cannot scan the system to see what disks are there to update.

Try updateing the PDC to the latest and then boot the firmware update tape again.

Good luck.

Nick.

Hello,

After I update the firmware of the CPU the server didn't reboot at initialisation of the hard disk to upgrade. But it gave several errors. Then I also changed the disks from an L1000 to an L2000. On the L2000 I could perform the upgrade without any problem?
Very strange.
