Why would you want to upgrade the firmware on this drive? Is there some problem?
I am sure there is no Firmware update for the drive. Seagate (the OEM I'm sure) has not had to release updates for a while now.

Great.
It use to be common practice when SCSI was a bit more desperate. but today things are much more standardized, not requiring updates to fix errors.
HP had problems in years past because they were always trying to proprieties things with signatures and such. This seemed to cause problems between their personated controllers and personalized drives when they were purchasing drives from a host of manufactures and trying to get the same result.
