I'm trying to update the firmware on some disk drives in a SC10 shelf. All the drives on the shelf are ST336704LC 36Gb disks but I can not find any firmware patches for these drives. Currently the drives have verious levels of firmware on them and I would like to get them all to the same level.

All drives on the shelf show as ST336704LC

Revision levels from diskinfo -v commands show
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP05
rev level: HP05
rev level: HP01
rev level: HP03
rev level: HP03

Have searched the firmware web site but can not locate any firmware for this model drive.
hi,

It doesnt seem to be available for the seagate disks you have.

If its not available for download, then its not deemed a necessity by HP.

If you want them to be upgraded then HP will come and do it as a service call

Andy

Hi,

Firmwares for these disks are not downloadable.
If you have a hardware support contract then you can ask at HP for these firmwares.

I think You should ask HP for the firmware to bring them to the same level.

While I don't care most of the time, disks with different firmwares on one bus sometimes really cause some pain.

Thanks for your responses, that appears to be the same as I was finding. I have been able to get the firmware up to date on some other disks (differnet models) but can't locate any for this one.

No specific problem just wanted to get everything up to a common rev level.

Hi Alastair,

I'll confirm all earlier responses.
Only *large* shops can even hope to get the FW *plus* utilities to apply these type updates & can get these type FW from HP.
So place a HW/SW call to the response ctr to have your friendly CE come out to do this.
They have these magical CDs that can do wondrous things 8~))

My $0.02,
Jeff
