My quess on the price difference is that the parts for sale are System Pulls, i.e. used with some hours on them.
As for the difference in Part Number, the BD number is a typical HP/Compaq product ID. And I show that this was originally in the Compaq style Hot Plug Tray not the HP Telluride style Hot Swap Tray for the DS models, and must have been switched out.

But why the others present the Seagate part number as the product ID, that is not typical with an HP Firmware on the drive, but my be so.

As for 'Official', well I do not show that there was a 146GB drive listed as an accessory when that unit was was sold, so the last owner must of just put in an 146GB FC drive he could find (the A6231A A6194A A6194-60001 were the 'Official' 73GB Hot Swaps for the unit)

So, the bottomline answer, and best solution, is, there is no 'Official' replacement. You are on your own replacing the drive in the tray with a new FC drive like the Fujitsu MAW3147FC or Seagate ST3146807FC ST3146855FC or 300GB MAW3300FC

the list you provided lists both scsi and fibre drives so isn't a list of disks that go in the DS2405.

the problem the original author has is the HPQ drives won't have the correct brackets.
