Greetings Eugeny,
.
You seem to be the only one answering my questions lately.
.
The Disk Service Manual, Part # A2051-90015 found on the HP home site search page is a 28 page section of the original manual with the same name. The original is approx 360 pages.
.
It covers all Disks used by HP for servers, arrays, etc. It also has a information on the configuration and jumper settings for most of those drives. It's really a sort of bible on the various drives hp uses.
.
I have the March 2000 issue, but can't find anything newer. The coverage for, example, newer 73 Gb and 148 Gb drives is not included.
.
I was hoping someone knew if there was a newer version somewhere on the HP site or else where.
.
Paul Middleton
(Eugeny - Are you really in Russia? or did I read your Profile wrong?)

Greetings,
I don't know where I got it, but I have a pdf copy of "Disk Service Manual" dated March 2000, Thirteenth Edition.
.
Is there a newer version with, hopefully, any new drive mech numbers? If so, where could I download it from?
.
Any and all help appreciated.
.
Paul Middleton

I've found it at http://search.hp.com/gwuseng/query.html?la=en&qt=A2051-90015&submit.y=8&submit.x=8 , but the same March 2000 release. I do not think there's such newer doc is available. To find configuration details you will need to go to HP support http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Product.jsp?prodTypeId=12169&prodCatId=64247&locale=en_US and enter disk's or parent (server, storage array) product number, then click at 'manuals' link and download manuals for them
Eugeny

Eugeny,
.
Thanks for the info. The first "manual" is the same section of the whole document that I already have. The second url for the Search Product will come in handy, if I can stand to work with it.
.
For example, I put in 9000/L2000 to see if I could find a manual for the server. The responses included:
Compaq Alphaserver ds10l
Compaq Deskpro /l desktop PC 3/33l
dL590/64 Itanium 800-4MB L3 cache processor
hp color LaserJet 1500L printer
hp L1500 lcd monitor
hp omnibook xe3l-gf
hp pavilion notebook n5422l
hp StorageWorks esL9322L1 tape library
hp surestore hub L10
hp vectra 386/20n model 50l PC
hp Visualize b132L workstation
hp Visualize c160L workstation
hp/ATAlla AXL600l ssl accelerator card
ups r3000 xr (high L620)
ups r3000 xr (low L5-30)
.
but nothing about the 9000/L2000 Server.
.
I'll just have to work with it.
Thanks for all your help.
.
Paul Middleton
.
(It's just stunning to think I'm communicating with someone on the other side of the world.)
