I have 2 proliant servers ML350 running NT 4.0 connected to MSA500, in the MSA I have only one logical drive in raid 5.
Is posible share the same logical drive in the two servers?

Francisco,
the MSA500 supports a 2-node Windows cluster, where both servers have access to the same logical disk(s).

But understand that you will NOT have shared access to the filesystem. Only one server can have the disk mounted at a time. It is a Windows limitation and has nothing to do with the MSA500.

Thanks you Uwe for your answer, you know what operating system support mount the same logical drive and write concurrently?

Hello Francisco,
I am familiar with OpenVMS and Tru64 Unix which will allow multiple servers in a cluster to read/write the disks, even down to the record level. However, both operating systems run on AlphaServers which are not supported together with the MSA500.

I beleive that other Unix systems have similar add-ons so they can truly share the disks.

You might also check the Veritas Volume Manager, but I don't know if it still supports Windows NT.
