Just tried to install a Smart Array 431 on a Compaq Proliant 400 system, updated to the newest RomPaqs first, both the Smart Array 431 and the COmpaq Proliant.

First I had the problem where it cannot find a logical drive on the machine, solved that by updating the RomPaqs.

Now I can install Win 2000 but it takes approx. 10 minutes to start, it seems to run ok, but it is very very slow. I have just taken the Smart Array 431 out of the maschine as i thought it maybe the maschine that was broken. But now the installation and the initial work with the maschine is perfect.

Anyone know why i entcounter these problem, it would be much appreciated...... ?

Greetings Thomas

What version of Smartstart is involved? Does setup see the 431 as the primary controller?
