topic Smart-2SL went bye bye in Disk Enclosures

After I installed Windows 2000 Server on a Proliant 800 with a Smart-2SL Array controller, W2K's array controller driver complained that the firmware on the array controller was outdated and had to be updated. This warning was being posted in application event log several times a day. So, I upgraded the firmware to the latest version 4.40 (I believe). The updgrade happened without a hitch and got a successfull notice at the end. After a cold boot the array controller stopped working. The system doesn't even see the controller during the boot process.

Any ideas? I guess my only alternative is to repalce it? Can I have it fixed? It is kinda expensive controller.

Thanks in advance for your help.

-Alan.

Try clearing NVRAM and re-run the System Configuration Utility and the Array Configuration Utility . If still having the same problem have the Array controller replaced . If your Server is still under warranty the controller is covered .
