    <description>that should be no problem. the 2P should be update to the latest firmware (4.44) and then you can move the array internal. please have a verified backup just in case. also you will need to re cable the array controller to the internal drive cage.</description>

      <description>We have a proliant 5000 with an external drive array on a smart2 /p controller. The 5000 does not have any drives in the front cage. Can we set it up so that I can move the 4 drives from the external storage to the internal, use the same controller, and get rid of the external drive box?</description>

      <description>Thanks, Justin,  &lt;BR /&gt;We did that, the only thing we missed originally is that the CD cable comes off the drive cage, so we got a SCSI cabling error on boot. We disconnected the CD SCSI cable from the cage and plugged it into the Main Board, and everything worked fine.</description>
