The XP12000 is HP's OEM'd version of HDS's Tagmastore USP (Universal Storage Platform).

The XP works great in environments tthat contain AIX, Solaris and Windows. It has (or had - I'm not really up to speed on the competition any more) some xclnt advantages over its competitors in heterogeneous environments (e.g. virtual ports allow you to host HPUX and windows clusters on the same physical ports).

HTH

Duncan

May be it is a stupid question. I want ask is it possible to upgrade XP128 to XP1024 if more capacity is required?

And, anyone knows the cost difference between XP128 and XP1024(minimum configuration).

Thanks

You can't upgrade XP128 to XP1024 if more capacity required. Check the following link as well:

http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/products/disk_arrays/highend/xp128/qa.html

Cost difference between XP128 and XP1024 must be very large. However I am not sure.

sks

As already indicated you can't upgrade a XP128 to a XP1024...

BUT

You can buy a XP12000 which starts out roughly at the same spec as a XP128 but scales up to larger than a XP1024.

HTH

Duncan

As all know that XP128 and XP1024 are OEM from Hitachi 9970V and 9980V respectively. Is XP12000 also OEM from Hitachi? Which model?

Also, anyone has experience in using XP disk? Is it good? (for heterogeneous platform, e.g. Solaris, AIX, Windows)
