OpenView Storage Operations Manager (OVSOM)
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storage/software/som/index.html

is a bundle of CV-EVA and OpenView Storage Node Manager (OVSNM). OVSNM is one out of five modules from the OpenView Storage Area Manager (OVSAM) product.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storage/software/sam/index.html

The OVSOM/SNM license is registered in the OVSAM client GUI, not CV-EVA. If you don't use OVSNM/OVSAM, then you can't/ don't need to register the license. CV-EVA will work without it.

These days the CV-EVA licensing mechanism is only used to register the BC-EVA or CA-EVA licenses, but not OVSOM/OVSNM.

The license key screen seems to be VERY picky at times with how things are formatted.
A simple cut and paste doesn't always work, so what I've done in the past is copy and paste the key that I receive in email into WORDPAD or notepad, and clean it up a little. I think each "/" represents a carriage return, so I put them all at the end of the "sentence" and then I copy the whole thing and paste it into the license key screen.

Hope this is helpful to you.
