Hi

I have one HP Integrity rx2600 (Itanium2) running linux with a MSA-30 array connected to SmartArray 6402.

1. How do i monitor the array? I have no software, the drivers came from "linux enablement kit for linux". Is there any software who monitors the raid?

2. Whats the EMU port do one the array? How do i access it?

/anders

2.) predecessors of the MSA30 could be mounted in a vertical floor-stand box.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/drives-enclosures/4300enclosure/index.html

In that case, an LCD display on the top of the enclosure is connected to the EMU (the port used to be labled with "LCD").

What are you monitoring for? Most functions may be monitored via Insight Manager (either web agent or SIM).

This will give you power supply status, file system(s) utilization, disk status, firmware levels, everything you could want EXCEPT IO performance.

Ralf,
It depends what you mean by 'monitor', but on HP-UX there is an EMS HW monitor, msamon, that reports events for MSA30 devices. This comes with the OnlineDiags.

Andrew

(You'd have got a quicker reply if you'd posted in the HP-UX forums!)
